Proactive vs. Reactive Marketing

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in react mode?  You get so caught up in the hustle of the every day needs of running your business, that you don’t make the time to give the big picture the attention it deserves.  So, rather than proactively marketing your business, you’re merely reacting.

“Oh no…sales are down this quarter!  Hurry up and get something out there…anything!”

This is not going to get you the results you need!  Possibly in the short term, but it’s certainly not the long-term solution for your business’s success.  That’s the difference between Proactive and Reactive Marketing.

Reactive Marketing…

  • Occurs with no forethought –Without research, you have no idea what will stick.

  • Causes the most stress

  • Causes inconsistent messaging

  • Is a waste of time, money & energy

Proactive Marketing…

  • Is thoughtful & premeditated

  • Allows you to plan ahead and create a path to where you want your business to go.

  • Is YOUR own strategies to reach YOUR ideal customers

  • Is the JMG preferred choice in marketing

Here are some tips for you to be more proactive

1.       Review your goals

2.       Know your customers.  They will tell you all you need to know.

3.       Be the CEO of your business.  This allows you to look at decision making with less emotion & forces you to make the time for planning

4.       Communicate plans with your team to get whole team buy-in

5.       Be aware of what your competition is doing, but don’t go off course because of it.  Stay on your own path!
